Description
Vyline V3 is composed of 3 elements:- 1 2-way Octopus with Bionector and 2 clamps (green and orange)
- 1 PE extension line pre-connected with a non-return valve (NRV) and a 2-way Octopus with Bionector and 2 clamps (green and orange)
- 1 set of 2 adhesive labels (1 purple and 1 white)
This set is indicated for the infusion of drugs in relay through syringe drivers.
The 2-way Octopus, connected to the intravenous catheter, allows the connection of the supplied extension line for the relay infusion and provides an additional access for a second infusion.
The extension line equipped with the NRV + Octopus can be used for the infusion of the drug in relay, by connecting the Octopus to the 2 syringes used for the relay.
Used alone, on a lumen of a central venous catheter, Vyline V3 presents the following advantages:
Decreases the risk of drug bolus or aspiration during connections and disconnections of infusion lines/syringes on the Bionector.
Avoids the use of non disinfectable injection sites thanks to the Bionector, a disinfectable closed system.
Avoids the use of 3-way stopcocks when administering drugs simultaneously and / or continuously.
The non-return valve, present on the infusion line, prevents any backflow of fluids/drugs during multiple infusions and flowrate variation when syringe drivers are moved.
The straight polyethylene extension line is recommended for an infusion through syringe driver. In addition, due to the chemical inertness of polyethylene and its drug compatibility, a PE extension line should be preferred to PVC whenever the extension tube carries a solute or drug that has interactions with PVC.
Adhesive labels, placed close to the patient’s vascular access allow simplified visual identification of the infusion line.
The Vyline V range allows to replace or add infusion lines if required.
