Indication
Add-on device for IV catheterization.
Extension tubes with anti-siphon valve are used to prevent syphonage / downloading when administering a drug or IV solution from a syringe pump.
This occurs either by
- gravity if the plunger or the bevel of the syringe is free to move
- leakage of air into the syringe and / or the extension line
