Description
Paediatric Multicath 2 is a radiopaque 5.5 Fr polyurethane double-lumen catheter inserted by the Seldinger technique in the internal jugular, subclavian or femoral vein for paediatric use. Dual lumen Multicath 5.5 Fr consists of two lumen completely separated on the total length of the catheter. Each lumen leads, at the distal tip of the catheter, to a distinct hole. At the proximal end, the 2 lumen of the catheter are connected to extension tubes of different lengths; besides, each extension tube is marked "DISTAL" and "PROXIMAL" and includes a different colored hub so as to identify easily the different infusion lines. The diameter is the same for the distal and for the proximal lumen: 2 x 17 G.
The user can choose between 2 types of introducer: 1 echogenic puncture needle or 1 short I.V. cannula.
Multicath 2 is presented in a rigid blister pack containing:
- 1 double-lumen radiopaque catheter with intermdiate hub fitted with soft fixation wings centimetric markings from 5 cm from the distal tip Ø 5.5Fr - Length 8 cm - 12.5 cm - 15 cm - 20 cm or 30 cm. Supple distal end,
- 1 echogenic introducer needle ext. Ø 0.8 mm - 21G - Length 38 mm,
- 1 short I.V. cannula 22G - Length 25 mm,
- 1 J teflon-coated Nitinol guidewire with guide advancer, Length 40 cm for codes 157.508, 157.512 and 157.515 and 70 cm for codes 157.520 and 157.530,
- 2 dilators (6Fr length 3 cm and 5 cm),
- 2 injection caps,
- 1 5 ml syringe,
- 1 secondary fixation wing,
- 1 scalpel.
